The AP Art History course is equivalent to a two-semester introductory college course.  By investigating specific course content of 250 works of art characterized by diverse artistic traditions from prehistory to the present, the course fosters in-depth, holistic understanding of the history of art from a global perspective.  This course helps students become active participants in the global art world, engaging with its forms and content.  Through studying various artworks and buildings from different time periods and cultures, students will develop vocabulary and analysis skills that are central to art history. Students will practice and reinforce their skills through engaging in classroom discussions and researching and reporting on artists and artworks.  At the end of the course, students will have the opportunity to take the AP Art History exam for which they may receive college credit.
