In Creative Writing, students will study in a workshop as they prepare to share their writing with an audience. They will participate in rigorous, teacher-led workshops with the goal of identifying existing strengths and areas of improvement in their own and other’s writing, developing their skills as both writers and editors. The number one goal in a workshop is to provide the writer with the tools and encouragement to attempt an improved second draft of their piece. Units will also include readings on craft as well as example texts. Writing exercises will also be periodically assigned. All genres are welcome: fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, drama, screenwriting, and more.
